Nanoforum 2010 is not only for experts!
Three hours dedicated to introductive lessons in the afternoon of the 15th of June and non-experts will know more. The nanotech world will be shown during a general tutorial by the dott. Alessandro Ponti, CNR-ISTM, in-depth thematic lessons will follow regarding nanotech applications in energy, mechatronics and biotech: speakers will be dott. Angelica Chiodoni and dott. Marzia Quaglio from the Italian Institute of Technology pole in Turin and dott. Carlo Ricciardi from Politecnico di Torino. The DVD “Nanotecnologie - Uno sguardo sul nanocosmo” (Italian language only and until copies are available) will be distributed by free to all attendees at general tutorial.
The virtuous and responsible development of nanotechnologies is among Nanoforum 2010 objectives
The safety of nanotechnological products and processes will be the main topic of the conference session organized by Unione Industriale (UI) di Torino, 17 June. “Companies find themselves involved in the tumultuous development of nanotechnology, and it is necessary to assure a high level of protection for human health and environment” tells us Dott. Mauro Sabetta of UI; he will be the chairman of the session where speakers will be dott. Maria Alessandrelli, Istituto Superiore di Sanità, dott. Letizia Polci, Department of Health, dott. Nadia Esposito, ISPRA. “We are in a very delicate and stimulating period in which normative parameters have been defining, and the Unione Industriale di Torino wants to give support to companies that are investing in nanotechnologies” Sabetta affirms. Unione Industriale di Torino is actually very attentive to the regulatory aspects since the appereance of REACH. The session, organized and coordinated within Nanoforum 2010, has the scope of on one hand to focus on nanotechnology problems and on the other hand to show the Italian position in the European context.
A nanoscience Japanese authority at nanoforum
In 2006 Professor Masayoshi Esashi received the Purple ribbon award, which Japan gives to the most important researchers of the country, this year he will be in Italy for Nanoforum 2010. Director of Micro System Integration Center of Tohoku University, Esashi is well-known for his pioneering research in MEMS and nano-fabrication; he will deliver a lecture during he plenary session on the 16th of June and during the nanomedicine session on the 17th June.
